wish me luck

i just emailed off my ms as well as the other required documents to the publishers. suddenly i'm nervous as a motherfuck. there's so many things i coulda done wrong, forgot, etc etc that would negate this thing getting published. boy oh boy.

deep breath. ok, it's gonna be ok. wish me luck.

and of course, i will post the link(s) to purchase the book as soon as i know it is available.

i wanna take a second and thank all of you, the patient, persevering, long-suffering non-existant readers. in the book i shorten it to "beloved readers", but you, the real non-existants, know who you are, and can honestly say you were on the front-lines. thanks for the support, help, finger-crossings, and comments that have gotten me to this point.

i am already thinking about what book no. 2 should be...

What's your book about? I'm writing one myself right now, a fantasy novel, but I'm nowhere near finished.

Good luck getting published. My cousin, after years of trying, just got his first book picked up by a major publishing company, and he's thrilled.

welcome blackened boy, to my dirty little grease-spec on the world wide web. my book, in a nutshell, is about a smartass youth who grows up to be a stay-home father with aspirations to write, and then nearly loses his marbles when his wife deploys to the desert.

took me ten years to write it, so take your time.

Ten years ago, I got *this close* to having Bantam publish my science fiction novel. After that, I came up with ideas to revise and improve. Ten years later, I haven't finished.... So, I'm REALLY proud of you for focusing and finishing where I haven't (yet!).

Perseverance is half the battle! You'll do great!

lol blogget, thank you for saving me from what would otherwise be an ugly mood (whiskey, loneliness, and "death sentence" induced). i focused to get it sorta done. given another chance, i would revise and make it a little more coherent. but then, hey, i have always been the kinda guy who wanted it all my projects and always just ran out of time, money, energy, what have you, and was still pretty happy with the results.

shit, this comment should've been it's own post, lol.

the point being, the book isn't as polished as i would like, but then most of kerouac, miller, n burroughs' books weren't either.

damn, i should have another whiskey sour! that sentence is supposed to say: i am the kind of guy who always wanted all of my projects to be perfect and always ran out of time, money, energy, what have you.

Who is your publisher? (only if you feel comfortable sharing the info, of course)
